Hazel Child

Hazel qualified as a Music Therapist in 2004, and also trained as a secondary school music teacher at Sussex University. She spent 8 years working at a school for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and has since expanded her practice to work with people of all ages and abilities, with a particular interest in music therapy in dementia care. She was shortlisted for an AHA award in 2018 for her work with Guild Care in Worthing in association with Music as Therapy International, delivering a training programme to care workers. She has also worked with teachers, social workers and young people across three schools in the West Bank, Palestine. During the pandemic, Hazel continues support clients using an online platform and feels this may be a useful tool to expand on in the future. She is approved as a clinical supervisor by the British Association of Music Therapy (BAMT). HCPC Registration number: AS14421
